Welcome fellow Oregonians! This site is dedicated to making it easier for all Oregonians to be informed and take an active role in how our state is run and which laws are passed during the 2013 Legislative Session. There are SO MANY bills that have been proposed and so much happening at the Capitol that most people do not have time to read through the bills, figure out which bill is actively being considered, and know when to act to support or oppose any bill.
This site takes the daily news feed from the Legislature, sorts it out, and creates posts that let everyone know where each bill is in the process. In addition, it allows groups and organizations that are actively working to support or oppose these bills to add their links to the bill’s page so that others who agree with their position can contact them and get involved.
If you prefer to take direct action, you will know when the committees are meeting to discuss the bills you are interested in so you can contact them ahead of time or go to the hearing if you like. We have an “Oppose” button that sends an email with a simple message opposing the bill. We also have a “Support” button that sends a message of general support. You can edit the message and change who it is sent to if you like.
Groups and organizations wishing to post links to their website or Facebook page, or to post an email address for people to contact, may send a message to the webmaster to become members and be allowed to post messages on bills they are supporting or opposing. We do not have the staff to monitor this site so we are not allowing general public comments at this time. Organizations that post will be asked to keep it brief and simple, giving just enough information for readers to know if this organization might share the same opinion of the bill and whether they want to support that group’s effort.
Tell your friends and family and everyone!
